Start singing your sea shanty’s and drinking rum (if your of age…naughty). Rare announced at E3 that Sea of Thieves, their upcoming pirate focused multiplayer game, will release early 2018. Yes, we know it’s not a solid release date, but at least it’s something and a damn sight more than we had before the show.
This announcement came at the end of a new, narrated, gameplay trailer. The trailer showed three distinct environments as well as a general idea of what to expect with the gameplay. The standout for us was the naval battles and the mechanics, especially when characters started blasting themselves out of cannons…awesome.
According to Rare, “ Sea of Thieves is an immersive, shared-world adventure game filled with pirates, unexpected dangers and loot for the taking. Be the pirates you want to be, share adventures with friends and set your own rules, roles and goals in a world where every sail on the horizon is another crew of players with unknown intent.”
Sea of Thieves is an Xbox One and Windows 10 Exclusive and if you want to help Rare “create” the game you can head over to their website to learn how.
