Despite Ubisoft’s E3 presser being a pretty solid showing for the publisher, we can’t help but lament at the lack of Sam Fisher.
We hoped against hope that we’d hear that familiar gruff voice of Michael Ironside and the iconic goggles powering up. Alas, it was not to be. That’s not to mean that there’s no chance for a new game in the future. Yves Guillemot is currently live on YouTube’s E3 channel and when asked about Splinter Cell, the head honcho stated that the firm had not forgotten about the franchise.
It’s likely that there is a game in development, as per rumours that have been floating around for a while, so perhaps we’ll be back here this time next year with an announcement? Who knows, but at least Ubisoft knows that its fans want more Sam Fisher, and if Ubisoft’s E3 presser said anything, it was “we listen to our fans”.
