This isn’t going to go down too well with those who are already struggling with hard drive space or data caps: Forza Motorsport 7 is going to take up an initial 100GB when it releases this October 3rd.
The game’s product page over on the official Microsoft store notes that 100GB of hard drive space is needed for Forza 7, and that’s not taking into account any day one updates or the inevitable post-release patches and content updates. The store page has since removed the reference to the game’s size, so it’s possible it was an error.
Xbox One games have a history of taking up tons of hard drive space; Halo 5, Gears of War 4, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection are all meaty games that have only grown in size with regular updates. Perhaps it’s time to invest in an external hard drive if you haven’t already.
Forza Motorsport 7 is due to release on October 3rd for Xbox One and Xbox One X. You can pre-order your copy here.
