Xbox Live avatars have been around for a long while now and, to be fair, we can’t really fault the feature at all. It’s been well implemented and it’s never caused a headache.
For some Xbox Live users it’s not quite a smooth ride, quite literally. Xbox fans have been asking for a while to get wheelchairs incorporated into the Xbox Live avatars so that wheelchair users can represent themselves as they’d like to. Fair enough, really. The good news is that it looks like it won’t be long until digital wheelchairs are available, as evident by a tweet sent out by Xbox Live’s Mike Ybarra.
That’s not the only thing either, as the image sent out by Ybarra shows something else, too. The avatar models in the picture below look very, very good indeed, much more detailed than the hit-with-a-frying-pan avatars we currently use now. Could it mean that there’s more to this than meets the eye? Could we be getting a revamp of the Xbox Live avatar feature? Maybe, but we’ll have to wait and see.
